Regional Manager | Encore Restaurants
As Regional Manager for Encore Restaurants’ IHOP Division, Mike Ulmer oversees all day-to-day operations of Encore Restaurants’ four IHOP restaurants in Mississippi, including financial performance, enforcing the IHOP brand and quality control standards, guest relations, hiring, training and developing all management and service staff, facility upkeep, and all marketing and community outreach programs.
Previously, Mr. Ulmer was the Franchise Business Consultant for IHOP Corporation’s Louisiana and Mississippi markets for two and a half years, where he served as the primary liaison between the IHOP franchisees and corporate leadership. He guided 14 franchise ownership groups and their management teams, which spanned 45 restaurants across 12 DMAs, in developing sales strategies, business planning, and restaurant operations as well as compliance with QSC requirements, marketing strategy, P&L management, new menu launches, and DMA restaurant development.
Prior to joining IHOP, Mr. Ulmer served as Director of Company and Franchise Operations of Wendy’s Company’s South Central Division for 10 years. In that role, he was responsible for providing leadership to 20 franchise ownership groups spanning over 125 restaurants and directing 48 company-owned restaurant teams across Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle.
Mr. Ulmer also has 12 years of experience with Allied Domecq Retailing Quick Service Restaurants, known for their Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts brands, as South West Region Director/General Manager and Senior Director of Concept Development.
Mr. Ulmer has a B.B.A. degree in Business Management at the North Texas State University.
